Product Description:

This offering is for a new-old-stock Cinelli Groove road stem in a size 130 mm. The finish on the stem body is primarily black with a polished silver detachable clamp. Contrasting this two-tone color scheme is silver labeling on the stem body that shows very well. Please also note these stems are becoming an increasingly difficult find (especially in the smaller sizes) and while we only have a handful (or less) in any one particular finish/size, we were still able to acquire a decent selection (but as I alluded to above, the availability in any one particular finish/size is fairly limited...so the selection may narrow a little sooner then we would like).

These Italian made stems are very good quality and are forged from heat treated aluminum alloy...AL 6061 T6 to be more specific. The shape of these stems is also fairly unique with the most notable feature being the grooved section that runs the length of the stem body (for improved rigidity). The result is a fairly strong/stiff threadless stems, while still maintaining a reasonable strength to weight ratio (the latter due primarily to the hollowed out center section that also stretches the length of the stem body). If there is a drawback, it's a cosmetic problem with the face plate. The polishing work is nice, but the Cinelli sticker across the front of the face plate is beginning to peel off on many of these stems. I'm guessing it's a fixable problem with some glue and effort, but we still wanted to make this known, as the labeling on the face plate is a nice touch in that it's one of the padded stickers like on the old Cinelli XA stems...so something we believe each customer will want to keep secured on the face plate.

This stem will mount on a threadless steerer tube and achieve an 80 degree stem angle (or said another way...a -10 degree rise). The diameter of the steerer clamp is the relatively common 28.6 mm, which will fit any 1 1/8" threadless steerer tube, and the handlebar clamp size is 26.0 mm (also a relatively common size that should be compatible with a number of road handlebars). We should also mention these stems include stainless steel hardware and the handlebar clamp retains all the conveniences of a completely detachable face plate for easy handlebar swaps. Please also note the stem weight in this 130 mm size is 240 grams (with a steerer dust cover).

As for condition, this stem is still packaged in it's original retail box, so it's in nice overall cosmetic condition with only minimal shopwear from years of storage. There is still the cosmetic problem concerning the face plate sticker noted above, but otherwise the stem is a first quality offering. Please also note this offering does include a Cinelli branded (matching) steerer dust cover...just as pictured.

Note to international customers regarding shipping...
We apologize to those that feel some of our international shipping charges are too high. We only charge actual shipping rates, but once an order exceeds a certain amount, we hesitate to use the least expensive US Postal Services First Class International service. We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case.

Note to international customers regarding customs...
We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale. Additionally, the declared order value must be equal to total store purchases and/or winning auction bids (less any shipping costs, as these are not considered in the declared value). As a result, each customer will be responsible for paying his/her own country taxes, duties and brokerage fees, which will be collected upon delivery. Again, we apologize for these additional costs, but we cannot afford the penalties and fines that come with breaking customs' laws...so we have to strictly abide by them.
