Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time - Rated 325/500!

Clapton had already established himself as a guitar legend by the time he released Slowhand. His heroin habit long behind him, Clapton's songwriting mastery was fully evident on the album, particularly in the stunning ballad "Wonderful Tonight." It fully actualized all of the potential hinted at in his earlier "Promises," and Clapton trusted himself enough to slow things down. Some of his most expressive guitar work can be found throughout this album, not just within "Wonderful." Ironically enough, Slowhand is probably best known for the hit "Cocaine." Built upon a simple repeated riff, the song had Clapton's trademark smooth voice with its wear around the edges, and yet another stellar guitar solo. Flashy runs and licks were never the most integral part of Clapton's catalog, his blues background being the primary source for his sound. Slowhand, with its phrasings, both guitar and vocal, established Clapton as the possessor of one of the most extensive vocabularies in rock.

Eric Clapton has fashioned albums in many different styles and with many different themes, yet few have the sense of oneness that pervades Slowhand. Slowhand was recorded at Olympic Studios in South West London in May 1977 and was produced by Glyn Johns. Released in November 1977, Slowhand was the most successful album of Clapton's '70s studio recordings. It reached No. 2 on the Billboard chart where it stayed for five weeks, spending a total of 74 weeks on the American album chart.

Slowhand features "Wonderful Tonight', "Lay Down Sally", and "Cocaine" - songs that are still heard regularly on radio and at Eric Clapton's live shows. So long after its release is a great recommendation and testimony to its place in Clapton's canon. The album includes cover versions of songs written by some of his favorite songwriters (JJ Cale, John Martyn, Don Williams, Arthur Crudup) along with original compositions by Eric Clapton.

"Slowhand was the nickname given to Clapton by the Yardbirds. On this quintessential Seventies album, he mixes candlelit love songs and guitar-hero riffs; "Cocaine" and "Wonderful Tonight" are the hits, but don't overlook "Next Time You See Her," a tender melody loaded with a death threat to a lover's suitor." - rollingstone

Eric Clapton I Still Do ORIGINAL RELEASE OUT OF PRINT TREMENDOUSLY RARE 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION 45rpm  DOUBLE LP SET

180g 45rpm Double LP!
Mastered by Bob Ludwig and Cut by Bernie Grundman From Analog Tape!

Michael Fremer Rated 10/11 Music, 11/11 Sound on analogplanet.com!

The legendary blues/rock guitarist Eric Clapton releases his 23rd album "I Still Do" on 45rpm 2LP. Once again, Clapton works with producer Glyn Johns, who has previously manned the boards for Clapton's 1977 Slowhand album.

"Everyone’s on fire and it doesn’t take more than a few bars before you realize you’re hearing a rich, organic, transparent artifact-free sound that’s rarely heard on modern recordings (probably because this all analogue recording and mix is not a “modern” recording!) ...I’ve played this one repeatedly since it arrived yesterday and as a demonstration of indelibly pure, gimmick-free music making from all involved and record production excellence, it goes right to the top of any list. The double 45rpm 180g MPO pressing (at least my sealed copy) was quiet, flat and flawless. Don’t miss this one!" - Michael Fremer, analogplanet

The 12-song record, which follows the 2014 chart-topping Eric Clapton & Friends: The Breeze, An Appreciation of JJ Cale, includes some originals written by Clapton. The album is mastered for 45rpm for maximum fidelity.

The album is mixed by Glyn Johns, mastered by Bob Ludwig, and cut for vinyl by Bernie Grundman from analog tape.

Features:
• 180g Vinyl
• 45rpm Vinyl

Eric Clapton Pilgrim 180 GRAM TREMENDOUSLY RARE OUT OF PRINT USA PRESSED LIMITED EDITION 2LP SET

180 Gram Double LP! Includes "My Father's Eyes", "River Of Tears", "Circus" & More!

Recorded at Olympic Studio in London in 1997, Pilgrim's 1998 release marked Clapton's first album of original material since 1989's Journeyman.

Working with Simon Climie, Clapton's wish was to record a sad album according to his autobiography. Two of the songs were written after his son died in 1991 - those songs are "My Father's Eyes" and "Circus". The album finds Clapton experimenting with drum machines, synthesizers, guitars, and strings reminiscent of R&B.

The Pilgrim song appears on the Lethal Weapon 4 soundtrack. Clapton and John Mayer resurrected the song "Broken Hearted" in 2005.

Much of Eric Clapton's haunting new (1998) album is informed by the smooth R&B textures of his 1996 collaboration with Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds, 'Change the World.' Yet Pilgrim is the work of someone who has learned in the hardest way imaginable that although he cannot change the world, he might be able to change himself. On Pilgrim we encounter a Clapton who is heartbroken but artistically reinvigorated, a guitar hero who knows too well that despite that flattering "Clapton Is God" graffiti of yore, he is entirely human.

"Pilgrim is easily Clapton's most ambitious, introspective piece of work since his days with the legendary, lacerating Derek and the Dominos. Paradoxically both slickly polished and surprisingly intimate, the album is a loosely themed soul-song cycle in the tradition of Marvin Gaye." - Rolling Stone, David Wild, February 25, 1998

MONEY & CIGARETTES - Remastered From Original Analog Masters!

Money and Cigarettes marked several important turning points in Eric Clapton's recording career: his debut release on his own Duck imprint; the first album he made after giving up drinking; and marked his working with new players (with the exception of second guitarist Albert Lee) including Stax Records veteran bassist Donald "Duck" Dunn and Muscle Shoals drummer Roger Hawkins, also bringing in guest guitarist Ry Cooder.

His new songs reflected on his changed condition, with "Ain't Going Down," a thinly veiled musical rewrite of the Jimi Hendrix arrangement of "All Along the Watchtower," serving as a statement of purpose that declared, "I've still got something left to say." Other notable hits include "The Shape You're In" the acoustic ballad "Pretty Girl" and covers of Sleepy John Estes' "Everybody Oughta Make a Change" (significantly placed as the album's leadoff track), Albert King's "Crosscut Saw," and Johnny Otis' "Crazy Country Hop."

By the time Eric Clapton launched his solo career with the release of his self-titled debut album in mid-1970, he was long established as one of the world's major rock stars due to his group affiliations -- the Yardbirds, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Cream, and Blind Faith -- which had demonstrated his claim to being the best rock guitarist of his generation.

Clapton has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo performer and as a member of the bands Yardbirds and Cream. He is the only person ever to be inducted three times. In his 40-year-plus career, Eric Clapton has received a total of 18 Grammys.

Eric Clapton Every Little Thing 150 GRAM LIMITED EDITION 12" Vinyl Single

Limited Edition 150 Gram 12" Vinyl Single - Only 2500 Copies!
Mastered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering!
Features Remixes By Damian and Stephen Marley Alongside Original "Old Sock" Album Version!
Also Includes Unreleased Peter Tosh Song "No Sympathy"!

Along with the commissioned Marley remixes, this 12" vinyl disc includes the album version from "Old Sock" and the track "No Sympathy", written by Peter Tosh, that was originally only available on iTunes.

The connection between Eric Clapton and Bob Marley runs deep. Slowhand's 1974 version of "I Shot the Sheriff" is perhaps the most famed reggae cover of all-time, and the song that gave Marley's music some of its earliest mainstream exposure in the U.S. Now, things have come full circle as Marley's sons Damian and Stephen have remixed a track off of Clapton's latest LP, Old Sock. The original track, entitled "Every Little Thing," has a bit of reggae flavor in addition to being an obvious reference to "Three Little Birds." The Marley crew has turned the track into a full-on one-drop reggae tune.

The four track 12" single includes two remixes by Damian and Stephen Marley in addition to the original album version.

Eric Clapton's album "Old Sock" debuted at #7 on the Billboard Chart.
