Albert Calder operated an old-time apothecary shop in Providence, Rhode Island, in the latter half of the 1800's.  Sometime around 1870 he started manufacturing a tooth powder which he branded, 'CALDER'S SAPONACEOUS DENTINE'.  It had quite a successful run as the Calder Dentine Co. was in business all the way into the 1930's.  It was advertised as 'Calder's Saponaceous Dentine', and it is said that it 'prevented tooth decay, kept gums firm and red, and the breath pure and sweet'.  A really great looking little Tooth Powder bottle, scarce in this larger 4" plus sizecheck it out!
