ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BLACK PAINTED WOOD &EMBOSSED PAPER MOURNING FAN - c1890



Description

Antique Victorian mourning fan, which has black painted wood sticks and guards, mounted with simple black embossed paper leaf. The fan has a steel loop, pin and rivet.

AGE
The fan would date to the end of the 19th century, circa 1890.

 

SIZE
The fan measures 44.5cm (17½") across when opened to it's fullest, and is 25cm (10") long when closed.

CONDITION
The fan is in a good condition for age, although one of the sticks has broken in two and would need to be repaired. The leaf has also started to come away from the back of one guard, plus there is some crease wear. Please refer to the above photographs for details of condition.
