Description The Tiger of Malaya , first published in 1953, recounts the war-time career of Japanese general Tomoyuki Yamashita, who led Japanese troops in the speedy capture of Malaya and Singapore, and earning him the nickname "Tiger of Malaya." His actions in the Philippines led to his trial as a war criminal and his subsequent execution in 1944. General Masaharu Homma was a leader of the Japanese invasion of the Philippines and held responsible for many of the atrocities to Allied POWs that occurred on the Bataan Death March. He was also tried by a military tribunal in Manila and executed in 1946. Included are 31 pages of photographs (some graphic in nature). Author Lt. Col. Aubrey Kenworthy (1892-1963) served in the Military Police Corps, U.S. Army, and was the Provost Marshal for the International Military Tribunal for the Far East. He was the principal military police officer in charge of security at the trial of the Japanese war criminals.
