Product Description:

This offering is for a new-old-stock 3T "Mutant" road stem in a polished silver finish.  It measures 130 mm in length (with center-to-center reference points) and weighs-in at approximately 235 grams. 3T is able to keep the weight down by using an aluminum alloy composite material that includes a hollow center. The angle on this stem (from the headtube to the stem) is 80 degrees, or said another way, this stem as a negative 10 degree rise. This Italian made stem is very good quality and our experience, as well as the thoughts of trusted colleagues, indicates it's a very reliable stem (and probably one of the strongest/stiffest in this category).

Per 3T literature specific to this stem, the Company had this to say..."MUTANT...One of the latest 3T ahead-set stems to evolve. The aggressive looking Mutant, which is designed for road racing competition, is both lightweight and rigid. Hot forged from 6082 T6 light aluminum alloy, it has proved it's outstanding strength by exceeding ISO 42.10 standards. Mutant is fully openable, quick and easy to assemble and ideal for handlebar or tape changes...easy to maintain."

With respect to compatibility, the diameter of the fork steerer clamp is the relatively common 25.4 mm, which should fit any 1" threadless fork steerer tube, and the handlebar clamp measures 25.8 to 26.0 mm, which is also a relatively common size that should be compatible with many vintage drop handlebars.

All of our 3T offerings are in new and unused condition (unless otherwise noted) and although this offering is not retail boxed and does not include a complete set of accessory hardware (i.e., missing the 3T steerer dust cap), it's still in nice overall condition (with some shopwear...but not too bad overall). Listing Update...We are nearing the end of our stocks in these unboxed Mutant stems in this size/finish. To this end, I can confirm this stem shows fairly well, but there are some shopwear-type scuffs and scratches. Please also note that while we have multiple quantities listed for sale, we will repeatedly update the pictures to represent the next offering that will sell/ship.

We only charge actual shipping rates, but once an order exceeds a certain amount, we hesitate to use the least expensive US Postal Services First Class International service. We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case.

Note to international customers regarding customs...
We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale.
