A 5" tall cylinder shaped light aqua colored antique MORPHINE LACED antique baby Teething Syrup bottle.  This is a very early hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating it back well over one CENTURY old, probably older.  Along with this are two pictures (below the bottle) of the same type of bottle but with the FULL ORIGINAL LABEL on it.  This labeled bottle is NOT included in this sale, rather it is just used to show that this bottle originally contained a patent medicine with MORPHINE in it, which were used as a Pain Killer for teething babies.  Again, the labeled bottle is NOT available for sale and is NOT part of this sale:

Now, about the bottle in this listing without the label ...

As the labeled bottle in the picture shows, this was a patent (quack) medicine bottle that held a morphine laced baby teething syrup.  No wonder the babies quit crying!  Not only did the morphine dull the pain but a little baby also became addicted to the drug.  It was quack medicine products like this that prompted the formation of the Pure Food & Drug Administration, a Government Administration that started to crack down on quack medicine ventures.  Once the morphine was taken out of the teething syrup all that was left was a sweet syrup with a watered down alcohol base that didn't do anything for pain, and that was the end of the Pain Killer Teething Syrup, and once that failed, all that is left is a handful of these old bottles to testify to the fact that the that the product ever existed, check it out!
