For years, the gold standard in the Scientific Anglers lineup was the GPX taper. From tossing small dries to slinging huge streamers, the GPX could do it all. But all good things must come to an end. Built a half-size heavy, the MPX taper starts where the GPX left off. Redesigned with more mass toward the front of the head, the MPX provides the same benefits of the GPX, with an added emphasis on presentation. The power is still there, only with an added bit of finesse. Meet your new best friend and the best all-around fly line we’ve ever made.

Shooting Technology Plus
Much like our patented Advanced Shooting Technology, the ST+ is an integrated slickness additive built into the coatings of our fly lines, providing continual line slickness as the coating continues to wear. The ST+ additive enhances the slickness of fly lines even more than AST, and lines with ST+ shoot farther and float higher than any lines ever have before.
Scientific Anglers Line Identification (SA ID)
As a result of our lab's mission to continually improve our lines, we bring you SA ID. SA ID is an innovative line marking system allowing you to identify your lines at a glance. Scientific Anglers have marked each of their premium SA ID lines with small printing near the front end of the fly line so you can see exactly what line you have on any one of your spare spools that you may or may not have used lately. This system eliminates confusion over similar-looking lines on similar spools, and eliminates the possibility of those old stickers ever gumming up your reel again. Wonder if a shooting head is 200 grain or a 300? Just look at the SA ID.
Streamlined Loops
Exceptionally slick and strong, our welded Streamlined Loops produce smoother casts and easier turnover with a seamless fly-line-to-loop transition making for softer landings and cleaner pickups. The sleek design also maintains buoyancy for improved fly-line floatation.
