The purpose of a distributor is to transfer the voltage to the spark plugs in the correct order.
A Distributor consists of a rotating arm or rotor, inside a distributor cap.
The Rotor Arms purpose is to spin inside the distributor cap and make contact with the electrical terminals allowing the voltage to be transmitted to the correct spark plug at the correct time.
