Offered is an E & H T Anthony stereoview depicting the posh Clarendon Hotel in Green Cove Springs Florida. In 1869, John Harris and Arthur Aldrich purchased the western portion of the property across Magnolia and constructed the Clarendon Hotel. It was a top-of-the line resort hotel, comparable to establishments in Saratoga. The main four-story wood structure was topped with a two-story observation cupola. A three-story wing and adjacent cottages provided accommodations for over 200 guests, with additional rooms for retinues of servants. The hotel burned to the ground in April 1900.
