Product Description:

This offering is for one set of new-old-stock Suntour LePree shifters (Model SL-DL10). It's an 80's model shifter set that pre-dates index shifting (so they will operate in a friction-only mode). We're not very familiar with the LePree components in terms of their pecking order among Suntour's other offerings, but a best guess would be middle-of-the-pack.

The shifter levers are made from an aluminum alloy and are extremely light at 82 grams (including cables/mounting hardware). There is also some fairly nice polishing work applied to these levers. The finish-work is not on par with higher-end shifter sets, but still respectable.

As for condition, all the sets that we have are new and in their original retail packaging (which consists of a heavy plastic bag with Suntour branding). Also, each set includes the full complement of shifter cables (albeit quite old) and one piece of cable housing for the length of cable that wraps around the rear dropout on it's way to the rear derailleur. Please also keep in mind these are braze-on model shifters, so they will only be compatible with frames that include down tube shifter bosses (and please refer to the discussion that follow regarding down tube mounting).

Down tube mounting discussion...
Upon close inspection of the pictures to the left, please notice these shifters generally pre-date the use of fat spacers/adapters that often accompany index shifters. Instead, these shifters use thinner spacers, which will still allow for clean down tube mounting on most vintage steel frames. In other words, these thinner spacers/adapters are designed to accommodate most shifter bosses (with square-shaped...12 mm x 12 mm base platforms) found on each side of a vintage 28.6 mm steel down tube...resulting in a nice/clean look.

Note to international customers regarding shipping...
We apologize to those that feel some of our international shipping charges are too high. We only charge actual shipping rates, but once an order exceeds a certain amount, we hesitate to use the least expensive US Postal Services First Class International service. We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case.

Note to international customers regarding customs...
We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale. Additionally, the declared order value must be equal to total store purchases and/or winning auction bids (less any shipping costs, as these are not considered in the declared value). As a result, each customer will be responsible for paying his/her own country taxes, duties and brokerage fees, which will be collected upon delivery. Again, we apologize for these additional costs, but we cannot afford the penalties and fines that come with breaking customs' laws...so we have to strictly abide by them.
