** James Manatt for over two decades was one of the top still men at MGM, where he
 worked with Marion Davies on a number of still sittings. Manatt also worked with  
 Greta Garbo and Katharine Hepburn.

Marion Davies (born Marion Cecelia Douras) was an American screen actress. Her film career
extended from 1917 to 1937. Some of her films include Show People (1928), The Patsy (1928), 
Cain and Abel (1936). But she was most famous for being the protegee and mistress for 30 years
of newspaper magnate, William Randolph Hearst. See page 251 "The Times We Had: Life with
