Decals: The sheet contains decals for six United States Army Air Force (USAAF) Consolidated B-24 Liberator aircraft sporting superb nose art, a B-24J serving with the 64th Bombardment Squadron (BS), 43rd Bombardment Group (BG), 5th Air Force (AF), a B-24D serving with the 374th BS, 308th BG, 14th AF, a B-24M serving with 759th BS, 459th BG, 15th AF, a B-24M Pathfinder serving with the 704th BS, 44th BG, 8th AF, a B-24J serving with the 33rd BS, 22nd BG “Red Raiders”, 5th AF and a formation B-24D serving with the 703rd BS, 445th BG, 8th AF.

 

Includes Black and Yellow bureau numbers, Grey and Black aircraft codes for the fuselage, superb nose art in the form of White “COCKTAIL HOUR” titles alongside a reclining nude wearing a top hat with a large cocktail glass against a city nightscape – click the link left for a superb colour image of the nose art, Yellow The GOON titles alongside artwork of the ‘Goon’ cartoon character holding a piece of ordnance, with smaller White/Yellow ”SANDY” and ”PABLO” titles for the nose surfaces of the 308th BG B-24 and artwork of a kneeling swim suit model, with no titles, for the nose of the 459th BG B-24, a large 22nd BG “Red Raiders” unit markings for the port side nose surfaces of the 22nd BG B-24,  64th BS, 43rd BG B-24 unit identification markings for the tail surfaces in the form of Red and White horizontal stripes for the rudder surfaces bordered by a narrow Blue vertical band and a diagonal Black band for the tail surfaces \| - click the link left, 459th BG B-24 identification makings in the form of a flattened Black diamond edged in Red front of the nose, 9W codes for the fuselage surfaces, Black diamonds for upper surfaces of the starboard stabilizer, Black and Yellow checks for the upper surfaces of the port stabilizer, Black diamonds for the tail surfaces and Black and Yellow checks for the lower tail and rudder surfaces ¿ . - click the link left, 446th BG B-24 identification markings in the form of the Yellow aircraft code letter N within a Black horizontal band bar surround by a Black ring over Yellow painted tail surfaces ,,,,N,,,, - click the link left, 33rd BS, 22nd BG B-24 identification markings in the form of a Yellow band for the mid-section of the tail surfaces incorporating the last three digits of the bureau number ,,II9 - click the link left, 445th BG formation B-24 identification markings in the form of large Black F code letter within a large White disc for the tail and starboard upper wing surfaces and a larger White F code letter and a White Z code letter for the fuselage surfaces, victory and mission markings and data blocks. Note that data/stencils and Stars and Bars or Yellow bordered Operation Torch Star roundels will need to come from the kit.


There are sufficient decals to complete all six B-24 Liberator aircraft taking account the comments above using either Stars and Bars or Star roundels where appropriate. The 43rd BG, the 459th BG and the 446th BG B-24’s are all finished in natural metal overall, the 446th BG also has Red cowl bands. The 308th BG and the 22nd BG B-24’s are finished in Olive Drab uppers over Neutral Grey lowers, with unit identification markings, described above, provided as decals on the sheet. The formation B-24 is finished in wide vertical bands of Dark Blue and Yellow over all aircraft surfaces – see image within the links below.
