Black and white ebony (Diospyros Embryopteris)
Origin: Southeast Asia
Heartwood is creamy white with black striking veins through out. The wood is hard, strong and heavy. Density varies significantly depending upon the concentration of darker heartwood as compared to the lighter sections. Very rare, unique and unusual species belong to the ebony family, but much harder to find than any other ebonies. Excellent turning wood, finishes well.
There maybe some pinholes, also checks/cracks from drying which is typical for this amazing species. This wood is prone to cracking while drying, please make sure you know how to handle it properly, end-waxed covered to protect the wood.
This stock is fully dry and ready for your project!
