TO MY PEN COLLECTOR FRIENDS AND VALUED CUSTOMERS:  As the Christmas season is now upon us, I will be taking a couple of weeks off in order to spend time with family and friends and enjoy the holidays.  The listings started on December 9, 2018, and ending on December 16, 2018, will be my last for the next two weeks.  I will return to listing pens on December 30, 2018.   Until then, Joyeux Noël from South Louisiana!

VINTAGE 1929 PARKER DUOFOLD SENIOR FOUNTAIN PEN

THE "BIG RED"!

HISTORICAL PEN COMMEMORATING THE 1929 DECOMMISSIONING OF THE USS KANAWHA!

SERVED IN WWI AND WWII!

SHARP IMPRINT!

RESTORED & READY TO USE!

This pen was inscribed to commemorate the 1929 decommissioning of the USS KANAWHA.  This ship was the first in a class of ships that were later labeled "Kanawha Class".  It was an oiler that served during WORLD WAR I and WORLD WAR II.  And, although it was decommissioned in 1929, it was later brought back into service for World War II.

Unfortunately, the USS Kanawha was sunk during World War II on April 8, 1943 by Japanese torpedoes.

  • ORANGE in Color with gold trim.
  • The pen is in EXCELLENT condition.
  • The pen is the SENIOR  size and measures 5 1/4" capped.
  • The pen has been disassembled, inspected, cleaned, and tested.
  • I have outfitted the pen with a new sac, the button filling system works smoothly, and the pen holds lots of ink as it should.
  • The imprint on the pen states, "Geo S Parker", "Parker Duofold", "Made in USA".
  • And the barrel is imprinted historically as "USS Kanawha, Decommissioned, December 1929"
  • The 14K nib is FINE in size and is inscribed, "Parker,  Duofold, Pen, Made in USA".
  • And of course, "Pat Sep, 5-16" is inscribed top and center of the clip and the word "Parker" is inscribed down the middle of the clip

If you have any questions, please ask--I will respond quickly. Good Luck!

About tbickiii's Vintage Fountain Pens:

Based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I have been collecting and restoring fountain pens since 2002.  In order to enable my collecting "habit", I sell restored vintage fountain pens and the occasional modern pen here on ebay.  I do all of the restoration work myself and stand behind my work.  I enjoy restoring these vintage pens and sending them on to someone to use and enjoy.

I list all my pens on SUNDAY NIGHT, so please check in and see what I have to offer.  Also, you can sign up for my NEWSLETTER above to get weekly e-mail notifications of the pens I have listed.
