In Chinese mythology, the Phoenix is a bird symbolizing the union of yin and yang. It is made of all the most desirable parts of earth's creatures: the snake's neck, the crane's forehead, the dragon's stripes, the fish's tail, the tortoise's shell, the swallow's throat, and the fowl's bill. The legendary phoenix was a symbol of high virtue and grace to the Chinese. This bird is the Chinese emperor's protector.

Design theme: The Phoenix
In Chinese mythology, the Phoenix is one of the four Gods and namely it is a bird symbolizing the union of yin and yang.
It is said that once the Phoenix sings on the Paulownia tree, a wise king will be born. So the combination of Phoenix and Paulownia is an eternal motif of style and pride. The theme appears repeatedly in wall paintings and pictures created over the ages.
