Porsche’s ultimate sports car and a new SUV powerplant join the special “50 Years of the 550 Spyder” Boxster® S to enhance already expanded 911® and Boxster ranges The “50 Years of the 550 Spyder” special Boxster S edition unveiled at the 2004 North American International Auto Show is just the newest Porsche model added to the company’s already expanded roster of sports cars and sport utility vehicles.

It was just a week ago in Los Angeles that Porsche unveiled to the North American market the ultimate Porsche sports car, the Carrera GT that is capable of speeds in excess of 200 mph (330 km/h) on the test track, and a V6-powered version of the Cayenne sport utility vehicle. These new vehicles expand a 2004 Porsche lineup that has already widened its appeal with a greatly revised Porsche 911 GT2 and cabriolet models of the 911 Carrera 4S and the 911 Turbo. This unprecedented expansion of model offerings within a single year demonstrates Porsche’s commitment to customers who want a sports car that meets their specific driving needs and their lifestyles, whether that involves fast laps around a racetrack, their daily drive to work or the exploration of wilderness areas.

" The following is a brief look at each 2004 Porsche model: The 2004 Porsche Carrera GT empowers its driver with the more than 600 horsepower generated by its 5.7-liter, normally aspirated V10 Porsche engine. To provide an unprecedented driving experience, the Carrera GT is a showcase of cutting-edge automotive construction and component technologies and brings to the roadway the undiluted qualities of a Le Mans-winning Porsche racecar. • Two-seat ultra-performance roadster • Base price: $440,000 Canada: $440,000 USD to be converted to CAD on day of sale • Engine: 5.7-liter, 605-horsepower (SAE) V10 • 0-62 mph (100 km/h): 3.9 sec. • Top track speed: 205 mph (330 km/h) • EPA city/highway: U.S. (mpg) and Canadian (liters per 100 km) figures to be announced.

Powered by Porsche’s most powerful six-cylinder “boxer” engine, the twin-turbocharged Porsche 911 GT2 has been generously modified for 2004 with new engine, chassis, suspension and brake tuning. The result is a twin-turbocharged, rear-drive sports car with 477 horsepower (SAE) and such standard features as ABS 5.7 and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake discs. • Two-seat sports coupe • Base price: $191,700 Canada: $269,600 • Engine: 3.6-liter, 477-horsepower (SAE) flat six • 0-62 mph (100 km/h): 4.0 sec • Top track speed: 198 mph (319 km/h) • EPA city/highway: 15/23mpg Canada: 15.5/10.1 liters per 100 km.

With 380 horsepower (SAE) to propel its lighted chassis, the 911 GT3 is the fastest of the normally aspirated Porsches for 2004. A pure sports car with seats only for the driver and one passenger, the 911 GT3 is capable of accelerating from a standing start to 60 mph in a mere 4.3 seconds. Though based on the 911 Carrera Coupe, the GT3 features a higher-revving 3.6-liter “boxer” six-cylinder engine, special aerodynamics treatment for its lightened but reinforced body and brakes even larger than those used on the Porsche 911 Turbo. • 2 seat sports coupe • Base price: $99,900 Canada: $139,000 • Engine: 3.6-liter, 380-horsepower (SAE) flat six • 0-62 mph (100 km/h): 4.3 sec. • Top track speed: 190 mph (305 km/h) • EPA city/highway: 15/23 mpg Canada: 15.6/10.3 liters per 100 km.

With twin turbochargers extracting 415 horsepower (SAE) from its 3.6-liter, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine, the 2004 Porsche 911 Turbo is among the most powerful production sports cars on the road, and now customers have the option of enjoying that power without a roof over their heads as the 911 Turbo Cabriolet joins the Porsche lineup. However, power without control can be nothing more than chaos, so all-wheel drive, Porsche Stability Management and other advanced technologies help the 911 Turbo driver maintain complete control in the Coupe or Cabriolet. • 2+2 sports coupe or cabriolet • Base price: $118,400 (coupe), $128,200 (cabriolet) Canada: $173,400 (coupe); $187,800 (cabriolet) • Engine: twin-turbocharged, 3.6-liter, 415-horsepower (SAE) flat six • 0-62 mph (100 km/h): 4.2 sec (coupe), 4.3 sec (cabriolet) • Top track speed: 189 mph (305 km/h) • EPA city/highway: 15/22 (coupe), 15/22 (cabriolet) mpg Canada: 15.7/10.6 (coupe), 15.6/10.5 (cabriolet) liters per 100 km.

The “S” badge on a Porsche signifies a special model, one with performance enhancements, not just cosmetic changes. Thus for several years, the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S has been the car of choice for the enthusiast driver who appreciates the performance provided by Porsche’s 315 horsepower (SAE), normally aspirated six-cylinder engine but who also wants the look and all-wheel-drive feel of the even higher-performance Porsche 911 Turbo. For 2004, that look also includes an unobstructed look from the new Porsche Carrera 4S Cabriolet model, which recently was honored as the “World’s Most Beautiful Convertible” by an international jury of 17 artists, architects, art historians and designers. • 2+2 sports coupe or cabriolet • Base price: $83,400 (coupe), $93.200 (cabriolet) Canada: $122,300 (coupe), and $136,700 (cabriolet) • Engine: 3.6-liter, 273-horsepower (SAE) flat six • 0-62 mph (100 km/h): 5.1 sec (couple), 5.3 sec (cabriolet) • Top track speed: 174 mph (280 km/h) • EPA city/highway: 17/24 mpg (coupe and cabriolet) Canada: 13.8/12.1 (coupe), 14.0/12.2 (cabriolet) liters per 100 km.

Based on the Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet, the 2004 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet offers buyers the confidence that comes with all-wheel drive. Instead of having all of the normally aspirated 3.6-liter “boxer” engine’s power going to the rear wheels, Porsche’s lightweight all-wheel-drive system sends as much as 40 percent of its power to the front wheels to help drivers handle those unexpected twists and turns while also adding traction in inclement weather. • 2+2 sports cabriolet • Base price $84,000 Canada: $123,200 • Engine: 3.6-liter, 315-horsepower (SAE) flat six • 0-62 mph (100 km/h): 5.2 sec. • Top track speed: 177 mph (285 km/h) • EPA city/highway: 18/26 mpg Canada: 14.0/12.2 liters per 100 km.

The benchmark for the modern sports car celebrates its 40th birthday during the 2004 model year, when it again is available in Coupe, Cabriolet and Targa models. Powered by a 315 horsepower (SAE) six-cylinder “boxer” engine, the Porsche 911 Carrera is everything that a sports car should be. It is fun to drive, powerful and precise, and can be driven to work on weekdays and then raced on weekends. • 2+2 sports coupe, cabriolet or Targa top • Base price: $68,600 (coupe), $78,400 (cabriolet), $76,000 (Targa) Canada: $100,400 (coupe), $144,650 (cabriolet), $110,200 (Targa) • Engine: 3.6-liter, 315-horsepower (SAE) flat six • 0-62 mph (100 km/h): 5.0-sec. To celebrate the 911’s 40th anniversary and its 1963 introduction, 1,963 copies of the special 40th Anniversary 911 are being produced. These cars are powered by a 345 horsepower (SAE) version of the 3.6-liter flat-six engine, making these the fastest normally aspirated 911s with the exception of the GT3 model. Additional enhancements to the anniversary edition include a mechanical rear-axle differential lock to provide better traction and to optimize acceleration. These cars wear special GT silver metallic exterior paint and are equipped with dynamic beam angle headlight control. • 2+2 sports coupe • Base price: $89,800 Canada: $131,450 • Engine: 3.6-liter, 345-horsepower (SAE) flat six • 0-62 mph (100 km/h): to be announced • Top track speed: 180 mph (290 km/h) • EPA city/highway: to be announced for U.S. and Canada.

Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe, Cabriolet and Targa 40th Anniversary Porsche 911 Taking its name from its “boxer” engine and its “roadster” architecture, the Porsche Boxster is the pure expression of the classic, two-seat, open-top roadster sports car. Wrapped in a package that recalls such famous Porsche racers as the 550 Spyder and the RS60, the 2004 Porsche Boxster is powered by a 225 horsepower (SAE), 2.7-liter normally aspirated six-cylinder “boxer” engine. • Two-seat roadster • Base price: $42,600 Canada: $60,650 • Engine: 2.7-liter, 225-horsepower (SAE) flat six • 0-62 mph (100 km/h): 6.4 sec. • Top track speed: 157 mph (253 km/h) • EPA city/highway: 20/29 mpg Canada: 11.7/8.1 liters per 100 km.

An “S” badge on a Porsche signifies a truly special model, not merely an upgraded trim or option package, and the Porsche Boxster S extends that tradition. A 3.2-liter flat six-cylinder engine generates 258 horsepower (SAE) that flows through a standard six-speed manual transmission, with a five-speed Tiptronic S as optional equipment. The Boxster S also has special and function bodywork that enhances the performance of sport-tuned suspension and large brakes with red-painted calipers. • Two-seat roadster • Base price: $51,600 Canada: $73,450 • Engine: 3.2-liter, 258-horsepower (SAE) flat six • 0-62 mph (100 km/h): 5.7 sec. • Top track speed: 164 mph (264 km/h) • EPA city/highway: 18/26 mpg Canada: 12.8/8.9 liters per 100 km Only 1,953 copies of this special edition Porsche Boxster S will be built. The Porsche Cayenne is Porsche’s interpretation of the sport utility vehicle, which means that it actually puts the emphasis on sport. While providing the sure-footed, four-wheel-drive dexterity as well as the roomy and luxurious interior that modern families expect in their SUV, the Cayenne adds on-road dynamic capabilities that make a sport utility feel like a sport car. This newest Cayenne model is powered by a new 250 horsepower (SAE) 3.2-liter V6 engine that efficiently and economically provides 19 miles per gallon fuel economy (12.2 liters per 100 km) in highway driving. • Five-passenger sport utility vehicle • Base price: $42,900 Canada: $80,850 • Engine: 3.2-liter, 250-horsepower (SAE) V6 • 0-62 mph (100 km/h): 9.7 sec • Top track speed: 133 mph (214 km/h) • EPA city/highway: 15/19 mpg Canada: 15.6/12.2 liters per 100 km.

As with the Boxster S, the Cayenne S is a high-performance model of the Porsche SUV. Equipped with a normally aspirated 4.5-liter V8 engine that provides 340 horsepower (SAE), the Cayenne S can sprint from a standing start to 62 mph (100 km/h) in only 7.2 seconds. The Cayenne S is as luxurious as it is athletic, with leather seating and a 350-watt Bose audio system on a long list of standard equipment. • Five-passenger sport utility vehicle • Base price: $55,900 Canada: $78,250 • Engine: 4.5-liter, 340-horsepower (SAE) V8 • 0-62 mph (100 km/h): 7.2 sec. • Top track speed: 150 mph (242 km/h) • EPA city/highway: 14/18 mpg Canada: 17.1/12.7 liters per 100 km.

Drawing its power from a twin-turbocharged and 450 horsepower (SAE) version of Porsche’s 4.5-liter V8, the Cayenne Turbo roars to 62 mph (100 km/h) in an amazing and spectacular 5.6 seconds on its way to a top track speed of 165 mph (266 km/h). But this is not one-trick pony. The Cayenne Turbo is a true Porsche, with dynamic handling, standard air suspension and large brakes. • Five-passenger sport utility vehicle • Base price: $88,900 Canada: $125,100 • Engine: twin-turbocharged 4.5-liter, 450-horse
