Elegant French Empire Ormolu Bronze 3 Lights Sconce with P F Thomire 1810 |
Elegant 3 light sconce with egyptian caryatid, palm leaves and cornucopia in ormolu bronze attributed to Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751-1843). The ormolu bronze is hand engraved with great delicacy. It's numbered 4 on the back and signed with letters F C used par Thomire since 1798 for the Ceres Chariot clock. Good condition a solder repair on the back to the foot of the caryatid, not visible in front as presented on the following pictures. 24 5/8" height 10 5/8" width weight 6lb 1oz (2.750 kilograms) Free shipping cost. |

For our French-speaking friends: Applique en bronze d'époque 1er Empire vers 1810 attribuée à Pierre-Philippe Thomire. Cariatide d'égyptienne torse nu vêtue d'un pagne en feuilles de palmier soutenant trois bras de lumière à la corne d'abondance sur fond de palmette. Les ornementations sont toutes reprises de ciselure, ancienne dorure au feu (mercure). Elle porte au dos le n° 4 et les initiales FC utilisées par Thomire des 1798 voir Le Char de Cérès, une pendule. Elle n'est pas signée. Accident brasé sur la palmette au pied de la cariatide. Hauteur 62,5 cm, largeur 27 cm, poids 2,750 Kg. |
