Offered is a U S Air Force Strategic Air Command Information Kit. Published by the US Air Force. Strategic Air Command (SAC) was both a United States Department of Defense Specified Command and a United States Air Force (USAF) Major Command, responsible for Cold War command and control of two of the three components of the U.S. military's strategic nuclear strike forces, the so-called "nuclear triad," with SAC having control of land-based strategic bomber aircraft and intercontinental ballistic missiles (the third leg of the triad being submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM) of the U.S. Navy). SAC also operated all strategic reconnaissance aircraft, all strategic airborne command post aircraft, and all USAF aerial refueling aircraft, to include those in the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard. The kit consists of a light blue folder, SAC booklet (1967) and a 1969 new release about modernizing the Minuteman II missile wing. Then there are (9) nine brief titled Background. Missile installation, Whiteman AFB, What’s a Minuteman?, USAF T & E, Combat Crew, Whiteman Complex, 351st Strategic Missile Wing, Guidance & Control, The Mission, and a general overview of SAC. Next is a list of the status of all bills before the House and Senate (3/17/9).  Ticket stubs for the AF Assn Natl Convention, March 1969 in Houston. Lastly a group of 9 – 8” x 10” and 3 5” x 7” b/w photographs of SAC items. The folder is worn with small tears and edge wear. All internal items remain in good condition.
