WW1 GERMAN HANNOVER
CL.III ESCORT FIGHTER - The Hannover CL.III was a German military aircraft of
World War I. It was a two-seat multi-role aircraft, primarily used as a ground
attack machine. Like the other Hannover "light-C-class", or
"CL" designated aircraft designed by Hermann Dorner, it included an
unusual biplane tail, allowing for a greater firing arc for the tail gunner.
Until the introduction of the aircraft, such tails had only been used on larger
aircraft.

SCALE PLANS CONVAIR
XFY-1 POGO VERTICAL TAKEOFF FIGHTER - The Convair XFY Pogo was an experiment
in vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) tail-sitter. The Pogo had delta wings
and three-bladed contra-rotating propellers powered by a turboprop engine. It
was intended to be a high-performance fighter aircraft capable of operating
from small warships. Landing the XFY-1 was difficult, as the pilot had to look
over his shoulder while carefully working the throttle to land.

referred to as the "Salmon") was an American experimental tailsitter
