Vintage albumen print. Félix Bonfils, né le 8 mars 1831 à Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort, et mort le 9 avril 1885 à Alès, est un photographe français. L'atelier photographique qu'il fonda en 1867 à Beyrouth (Liban) produisit une abondante documentation photographique sur l'Égypte et le Moyen-Orient de la fin du XIX° au début du XX° siècle. Il photographia au Liban, en Égypte, Palestine, Syrie et Grèce ainsi qu'à Constantinople à partir de 1876. Ces photographies connurent une vaste diffusion. The photographic studio he founded in 1867 in Beirut (Lebanon) produced an abundant photographic documentation on Egypt and the Middle East from the late nineteenth to early twentieth century. He photographed Lebanon, Egypt, Palestine, Syria and Greece and to Constantinople from 1876. These photographs have a wide diffusion.
