A very nice George III silver mounted cowrie shell snuff box with flush hinged cover, decorated with bright cut engraving and engraved dedication "A present from J.M. to P.M." The silver is unmarked as is common with these boxes, but it dates to c.1800.

It measures 8.5cm (3 3/8") long, 6cm (2 3/8") wide and 4.2cm (1 5/8") high. Condition is very good; a tiny loss to the edge of one of the sections of the hinge. No other damage or repair and light surface wear to the silver.

Payment is accepted by Paypal, bank transfer or cheque (UK only). I offer international postage, see shipping section for details; please be aware shipping costs do not make any allowance for customs or other local taxes that may apply. In most circumstances there are no customs fees for antique items but it is your responsibility to check your own situation.

We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. Return postage is at the buyer’s expense and packaging is the buyer’s responsibility; items must be received back in the same condition in which they were sent.
