Autographed 8x10 promo photo by famed Jazz Musician Illinois Jacquet (1922-2004)   tenor saxophonist, best remembered for his solo on "Flying Home" with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra in 1942, critically recognized as the first R&B saxophone solo. He also played with the Cab Calloway band appearing in the film "Stromy Weather" with Lena Horne. In 1946, he replaced Lester Young in the Count Basie band., and in 1983 he jammed with Bill Clinton at the Presidential Inaugural party. S The photo is signed & inscribed: Best Wishes to Jean Blair My Love Illinois Jacquet. Jean Blair was a singer with George Olsen's Orchestra in Chicago in the 1940s. There's also a fine cut signature mounted below the photo.This photo signed in the plate by the  fotog James J. Kriegmann and issued by the Gale Booking Agency in NYC. Probably dates to the early 50s. Framed out to 15.5" by 13.5". Unconditionally guaranteed to be an authentic period autograph.
