The MONTBLANC Homage to Henry Spencer Moore Artisan Limited Edition 88, created in honour of the British artist Henry Moore, recognised today as one of the world’s foremost abstract sculptors. Only 88 exquisitely skeletonised pieces, the same as the number of years the artist lived, have been crafted out of 750 solid gold.

The overall design reflects the biomorphic forms and expressive silhouettes of Moore’s works.

The cap and cone are skilfully skeletonised to reveal myried views into the inner parts of the fountain pen. The surface of the peni s very special: like the lightly porous texture of the natural materials that inspired the artist, especially stones, the 750 solid gold has been gently roughened to exhibit a fine structure.  The cap top is inspired by HM’s undulating forms so that the crowning Montblanc emblem in mother-of-pearl follows the asymmetric curving of the cap top.

The handcrafted 750 gold nib of the MONTBLANC Homage to Henry Spencer Moore Artisan Limited Edition 88 is decorated with a fine engraving of a pair of hands inspired by the many illustrations Moore made of hands. In fact hands have a special significance both a representation of the artist’s own hands and as a highly expressive human form that appears in many of his works.

The concerned pen comes in mint, unused and not inked condition. All original boxes and papers are included. Papers are duly signed and stamped.
