This listing is for an original 1840 German panoramic art print titled "Panorama Von Dusseldorf" by panormaic landscape artist Anton Diezler (also Ditzler). This one-of-a-kind print was initially sold back in 1840 for 24 silver, according to the stamp in the bottom right corner. It shows a panoramic landscape view of Dusseldorf in subtle pale aqua and cream colors. The bottom left corner describes the print as "Drawn according to nature by A Dietzler". It measures about 3.25" tall, 21" wide and is excellently matted and preserved in an antique gold-painted wooden frame. The print is in excellent condition, with minor wear around the wooden frame. Diezler was born the son of the honorary landscape and vedute painter Johannes Jakob Diezler. From 1830 he worked in his Cologne business. Like his father, Anton Diezler created detailed images of the Middle Rhine and adjacent landscapes that can be assigned to the cultural-historical context of the Rhine romanticism. From 1840, he commissioned the Cologne publisher Carl Eisen to create landscape panoramas.
