A 6 1/4" tall clear-glass SCARCE OVAL shaped JUMBO PEANUT BUTTER jar that is entirely covered with slanted embossed ridges.  It has an OUTSTANDING embossed picture of JUMBO the ELEPHANT!  This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE mold blown jar with a screw top, dating from the early to mid 1900's.

A classic old JUMBO PEANUT BUTTER jar, but in a not-so-common oval shape.  Though there are 100's of the one pound Jumbo P-nut butter jars out there, cylinder jars with different slogans on the base of them, this is not of that type.  I am not sure why the difference, but this one is a distinctively oval shape.   Maybe it was the predecessor or successor to the round one pound jars, I don't know, but I do know that the oval jars are not commonly found, a HARD - TO - FIND jar.  This is a nice example, with a strong impression of JUMBO the ELEPHANT embossed on it.  Note that the jar's LID is an antique Mason Fruit Jar zinc lid.  The pictures show a somewhat yellow tint to the jar, mostly on account of the setting sun in the background but there is also a little age discoloration to it, maybe a haze or stain.  Especially nice since it was put out by the Frank Tea and Spice Co. of Cincinnati, which a lot of people collect items from, check it out!
