Indian Motorcycle is legendary. Dating back to 1897, George Hendee created the Hendee Manufacturing Company making bicycles. One of the bicycles that was manufactured in the early years of the 20th century was known as the "American Indian". Such a name evolved to represent the continued development of the company. Decades passed, witnessing the gradual, yet precocious advancement in motorcycle design. Hendee assumed the development and attributed it to the cycle designs with the iconic "Chief" and "Big Chief".

Indian Motocycle (the 'r' was dropped in 1923 when the name was changed from Hendee to Indian) initiated its namesake with the revolutionary

750cc

V-twin engine. Considered to be one of the best ever built, definitely the best that Indian had ever made up 'til that point.

Time continued to present Indian bikes in gold medal winning races and military operations. 1960s brought the breaking of the land speed record

when Burt Munro racing his Indian 'Scout Streamliner', a 1920s design, across the Bonneville Salt Flats of Utah.

Late 1970s through to the early 1990s saw various companies outside of the realm of eyewear sourcing frame designs from companies like Carrera.

Companies like Porsche, Boeing, Jaguar, Ferrari, Lamborghini... these companies sought to diversify in releasing collections of eyewear. Indian

Motorcycle sought to suit such a trend. Of Japanese manufacturing, utilizing mineral glass and stainless steel, they set out to name their frames after

the icons of Indian Motorcycle lore.
