Polaris Baseplate and Shoulder Pad Combination- Great to start a DSLR/Mirrorless Rig

The Polaris Baseplate is the perfect baseplate for any Mirrorless camera or DSLR camera. The baseplate is Arca-Swiss (Zacuto Polaris) compatible on the top and bottom- camera side and tripod side (or Polaris Shoulder Pad). The top red camera plate attaches to the bottom of your camera with a ¼”-20 screw and can quickly loosen to slide or release with a 1 1/4 turn, and lift up from the baseplate leaving the rods and rig behind.  It has safety locks so the unit can’t slide all the way out if knob isn’t all the way loose. With this system you can quickly go between various shooting styles.

The bottom of the baseplate is also Polaris compatible. Slide it Zacuto’s Polaris Mounting Plate on your tripod, slider, etc., and turn the locking knob to lock it into place. Want to build a shoulder rig? Slide the bottom of the Baseplate into the Polaris Shoulder Pad.  If you don’t want a Polaris quick release between your baseplate and tripod, screw your standard tripod plate into the bottom using ¼”-20 or ⅜”- 16 screws.

The Polaris baseplate comes with 12” rods that go through the entire plate so you can add accessories onto the back of your rig. The rods are tightened with two mini ratcheting levers. It is also height adjustable to align popular cameras like the Panasonic GH5, Sony A7III, and Blackmagic 4K Pocket camera to standard matte box height.

This can clamp up to 50+ lbs
