Hanson Multipurpose Concrete is prepared by blending Hanson Cement CEM I 52.5N (to BS EN 197), with Regen GGBS (to BS EN 15167) and aggregates (conforming to BS EN 12620). Hanson Multipurpose Concrete meets the requirements of BS 5838-1:1980
APPLICATIONS
Hanson Multipurpose Concrete can be used for paths, drives, foundations and general concrete work
• Easy to use – just add water
• Saves time – quick and convenient
• Quality – guaranteed product quality
QUALITY
Hanson Multipurpose Concrete meets the requirements of BS 5838-1:1980 and is factory produced to ensure the highest quality concrete. When mixed with water a MaxiPack will produce approximately 0.009m3
of concrete and cover:
• 0.12m2 @ 75mm thick
• 0.09m2 @ 100mm thick
COVERAGE RATE
Recommended minimum thickness for concrete paths suitable for foot traffic is 75mm. For concrete driveways laid on well compacted foundations intended for vehicular traffic, 100mm is the recommended minimum thickness.
COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH
Approximately 25 Nmm2 @ 28 days.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
For best results, mix thoroughly using a mechanical mixer, empty the bag of Hanson Multipurpose Concrete into the mixer and blend until uniform. Slowly add clean water until the desired consistency or slump characteristics are achieved. Alternatively, empty the bag of Hanson Multipurpose Concrete onto a clean, flat moisture resistant surface, such as a mortar tray. Slowly add clean water until the desired consistency or slump characteristics are achieved, by thoroughly mixing with the aid of a shovel or similar.
Please note: The contents of the bag may segregate during transport and handling. To ensure satisfactory performance, the entire contents of the bag should be mixed thoroughly. If only part of the bag is required at a time mix together the entire contents on a clean, dry surface. Return surplus to the bag or other suitable container.
Avoid adding too much water whilst mixing as this will weaken, affect the setting time, and affect the durability of the concrete mix.
All surfaces to be worked should be free from oil, grease and any loose material. The area where concrete is to be placed should be prepared to prevent loss of moisture from the wet concrete.
For best results, use the concrete within 30 minutes of mixing with water. Protect newly laid concrete from the weather until fully hardened. Concrete strengths are improved by keeping the concrete damp during hardening. Application temperature: +5°C to +35°C.
ADDITION OF OTHER MATERIALS
Hanson Multipurpose Concrete is a pre-packed concrete. The addition of admixtures is not recommended and could adversely affect the performance of the finished product.

POSTFIX CONCRETE
Hanson Postfix is formulated to produce good quality concrete for setting all types of posts
USES
Hanson Postfix is a good quality post hole concrete for all types of post fixing applications including treated wood/metal posts or supports, concrete and plastic posts
• Easy to use – just add water
• Saves time – quick and convenient
• Economic – less waste than some other methods
QUALITY
Hanson Postfix is factory produced to ensure the highest quality post hole concrete
USAGE RATE
One bag is sufficient to support a post in a hole measuring 250mm x 250mm x 350mm
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Dig hole approx. 250mm x 250mm x 350mm deep (one spade width by one spade depth). For large posts over 7 foot (2100mm) in soft ground a deeper hole may be required
2. Position post vertically in hole, and pour in approx 2 litres of water (depends on ground conditions), in porous ground conditions where the water is immediately soaked up, add approximately 10% of the bag with enough water to wet the powder, mix with a stick to form a paste and coat the sides of the hole, allow to set then add the water as before and follow the instructions. (Alternatively the hole can be lined with a plastic bag or similar to stop the water draining away)
3. Empty the contents of the bag into the hole around the post & check the vertical position of the post using a spirit level. Adjust the position of the post and tamp to mix the dry powder and the water/remove air bubbles
4. Sprinkle further water to combine with any dry powder left on the surface.
5. Allow 5-10 minutes for initial set to take place – following this, the post will remain in a vertical position unsupported. Postfix will achieve appreciable strength after 2-4 hours depending on ambient conditions but is best left overnight before attaching fence panels etc.
ADDITION OF OTHER MATERIALS
