When hardened the concrete will be red/brown in colour.

USES
Shed bases, path bases, patio bases, and general repairs.

COVERAGE RATE
25KG (MaxiPack) with 25mm depth will cover 0.32 m2
25KG (MaxiPack) with 50mm depth will cover 0.16 m2

COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH
Approximately 15 Nmm2 @ 28 days.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
For best results, before placing mix thoroughly using a mechanical mixer, empty the bag of Hanson Instant Concrete into the mixer and blend until uniform. Slowly add clean water until the desired consistency is achieved, or alternatively, empty the bag of Hanson Instant Concrete onto a clean, flat moisture resistant surface, such as a mortar tray. Slowly add clean water until the desired consistency is achieved, by thoroughly mixing with the aid of a shovel or similar.

Alternatively for bases up to 50mm thick the following procedure can be used:

All surfaces to be worked should be free from oil, grease and any loose material. The area where concrete is to be placed should be prepared to prevent loss of moisture from the wet concrete.

Place Hanson Instant Concrete direct from the bag into the work area, working from one end to the other. Continuous areas should be limited to no more than 2m2 to avoid possible cracking as a result of movement. Even out with a straight edge to create a level surface.

Use a watering can with a fine rose to apply a small amount of water lightly and evenly to the Hanson Instant Concrete (without pooling) until the surface starts to turn a uniform dark colour. Do not add more than 3 litres of water per square meter. Too much water will weaken the mix.

Using either the edge of a plank or a plasterers float tamp the dampened surface lightly, stopping 300mm short of any undampened surface to avoid disturbing the remaining material. Increase the pressure on the float or timber plank to compact the surface. A smooth flat surface can be achieved by finishing with a plastering float.

After 2 hours sprinkle with approximately 3 litres of water per square metre (avoid direct water pressure on the surface). Further water should be added after 12 hours in internal situations or very dry conditions where quick drying takes place.

For best results, protect newly laid concrete from the weather until fully hardened. Concrete strengths are improved by keeping the concrete damp during hardening.

Application temperature: +5°C to +35°C.

ASPHALT DRIVE REPAIR
Hanson Drive Repair Asphalt is a 6mm grade ready to use cold lay asphalt for instant, temporary repairs to domestic driveways and paths. Hanson Drive Repair Asphalt is produced using carefully selected raw materials and strict quality control throughout each stage of the manufacturing process to ensure a consistent final product is achieved.

APPLICATIONS
Hanson Drive Repair Asphalt is suitable for a number of domestic applications including repairing driveways and footpaths and filling potholes.

PREPARATION
• Ensure the area to be repaired is dry and edges are solid/sound and not friable.
• Sweep the area and remove all debris including weeds and roots.
• NOTE: When overlaying very smooth surfaces such as concrete, the use of a spray-on bitumen tack coat is recommended to extend the life of the repair.

APPLICATION
• Use a rake or spade to spread the Drive Repair Asphalt to the required thickness, remembering to be slightly proud of the hole to allow for compaction.
• Use a flat heavy object for ‘tamping’ such as a tamper or mechanical plate compactor.
• Wet the tamper frequently to stop the Drive Repair Asphalt sticking to the tool and ‘picking up’
• NOTE: When repairing deep potholes (greater than 30mm) lay the Drive Repair Asphalt in two stages. Ensuring the first layer is fully compacted before spreading the next layer and compacting to the required finished surface level

FINISHING
In warm weather it can be beneficial to lightly dust a little dry sand over the surface after compaction to help reduce ‘picking up’ of the fresh material as it sets.

COVERAGE
The coverage rate of Hanson Drive Repair Asphalt is approximately 0.4m2 per bag, when compacted to a depth of 30mm.

CONDITIONS OF USE
• Not suitable for heavily trafficked areas, or areas exposed to high stress such as turning.
• Protect the newly laid surface from caravan legs, motorbike kickstands and other similar high loadings.
• Do not place heavy and sharp objects on the newly laid surface.
• Protect the newly laid surface from vehicle tyres and power steering action.
• Timber sheets can spread loading of vehicle tyres but will also reduce oxidation which is required for the product to harden. Therefore do not leave permanently covered as this will extend the time taken to fully harden.
• Drive Repair Asphalt should be placed within the temperature range of 5°C to 30°C.
• The workability of the Drive Repair Asphalt will improve if the outside temperature is above 10°C.
• The material may be prone to marking and deformation during early life and warm conditions.
• The time taken to fully harden will depend on the degree of compaction and ambient conditions.
• Surface finish can be improved by further tamping.
• After prolonged storage or in cold conditions, it may be necessary to expose the bag of the Drive Repair Asphalt to direct sunlight for 1-2 hours prior to opening to loosen the material and restore workability.
• Hanson cannot be held responsible for poor workmanship

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
For best results, mix thoroughly using a mechanical mixer, empty the bag of Hanson Multipurpose Concrete into the mixer and blend until uniform. Slowly add clean water until the desired consistency or slump characteristics are achieved. Alternatively, empty the bag of Hanson Multipurpose Concrete onto a clean, flat moisture resistant surface, such as a mortar tray. Slowly add clean water until the desired consistency or slump characteristics are achieved, by thoroughly mixing with the aid of a shovel or similar.

Please note: The contents of the bag may segregate during transport and handling. To ensure satisfactory performance, the entire contents of the bag should be mixed thoroughly. If only part of the bag is required at a time mix together the entire contents on a clean, dry surface. Return surplus to the bag or other suitable container.

Avoid adding too much water whilst mixing as this will weaken, affect the setting time, and affect the durability of the concrete mix.

All surfaces to be worked should be free from oil, grease and any loose material. The area where concrete is to be placed should be prepared to prevent loss of moisture from the wet concrete.

For best results, use the concrete within 30 minutes of mixing with water. Protect newly laid concrete from the weather until fully hardened. Concrete strengths are improved by keeping the concrete damp during hardening. Application temperature: +5°C to +35°C.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Dig hole approx. 250mm x 250mm x 350mm deep (one spade width by one spade depth). For large posts over 7 foot (2100mm) in soft ground a deeper hole may be required
2. Position post vertically in hole, and pour in approx 2 litres of water (depends on ground conditions), in porous ground conditions where the water is immediately soaked up, add approximately 10% of the bag with enough water to wet the powder, mix with a stick to form a paste and coat the sides of the hole, allow to set then add the water as before and follow the instructions. (Alternatively the hole can be lined with a plastic bag or similar to stop the water draining away)
3. Empty the contents of the bag into the hole around the post & check the vertical position of the post using a spirit level. Adjust the position of the post and tamp to mix the dry powder and the water/remove air bubbles
4. Sprinkle further water to combine with any dry powder left on the surface.
5. Allow 5-10 minutes for initial set to take place – following this, the post will remain in a vertical position unsupported. Postfix will achieve appreciable strength after 2-4 hours depending on ambient conditions but is best left overnight before attaching fence panels etc.
