A precious example of Lancaster Sandland's work. It features A Drunk with the beer in Stockade, dating approximately from 1941. The 2 piece box and lid includes 4 teabag trays made to fit inside.
This beautiful vintage box is hand painted. Marked on the inside of the lid: 'Modelled and designed by TH Sandland’, and on the bottom: 'English Ware. Lancasters Ltd. Hanley, England'. It has also engraved with number 424.
The box measures around: 3.74" x 2.75", 1.37" high. It weighs approximately 0.36 lb. It's in excellent vintage condition – no chips, no cracks, no restoration. There are some light crazing on the lid (as shown in the pictures) which is natural for this old pottery's wares.
Makes a lovely gift for collectors.
