19th century French enamel opera glasses with handle.
Stunning red enameled color with beautiful hand painted flower design.
Handle is 6.25". These opera glasses work beautifully and are 1.75" tall closed and 2 1/8" tall opened.
Glass is in excellent condition. Both mother of pearl eye pieces are marked "Le Souvenain , Paris". Additionally, the piece is marked LE in a triangle and Made in France on the hardware. I believe the metal to be brass, showing some signs of wear, end of handle is missing a cap. Enameling is not missing but has some area's that look like cracks but I can not feel anything, please see photo's. Painted design has some wear due to age.
These are beautiful in a seldom seen red color!!!
