Detailed Description
180g Vinyl Double LP Pressed IN 2008 RARE OUT OF PRINT EDITION FOR THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF VINYL
Kiss' fourth album was considered to be their breakthrough as well as a landmark for live albums. It was originally released in September 1975. The album charted for 110 weeks! "We wanted to put out a souvenir, almost like when you go to the circus," said KISS lead singer Paul Stanley. "I really enjoy myself onstage, prancing around, shaking my ass, shaking my head, playing the guitar between my legs. I enjoy it as much as the audience. Basically, I am entertaining myself up there." This double live album, recorded largely in Detroit (with some bonus material from Iowa, New Jersey and Ohio, plus a whole bunch of studio overdubs), was the breakthrough record for KISS, with exuberant versions of "Strutter" and "Rock & Roll All Nite," plus a classic litany of alcohol choices in the intro to "Cold Gin." -.rollingstone Features: • Heavyweight 180 Gram Vinyl • Double LP • Pressed AS A PART OF THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF BACK TO BLACK VINYL SERIES Musicians: Paul Stanley Gene Simmons Ace Frehley Peter Criss Selections: LP 1 - Side 1: 1. KISS celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the release of their 1974 albums, KISS (debut album) & Hotter Than Hell, with re-mastered reissues on 180g Vinyl! Although Carnival of Souls was recorded in 1995 into early 1996, the album was not released until the fall of 1997. The original release was cancelled due to the group's commitment to a reunion tour with the original lineup. Bootleg copies circulated by fans prompted the official release in 1997. The album closes with "I Walk Alone" featuring lead vocals from Bruce Kulick which is fitting since this would be his last album with the group. "Jungle" was the only single released from the album reaching #8 on the US Mainstream Rock Tracks Charts. The song won the 1997 Metal Edge Readers' Choice Award for Song of the Year. KISS Lick It Up 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION LP180g Vinyl LP Pressed at QRP! KISS celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the release of their 1974 albums, KISS (debut album) & Hotter Than Hell, with re-mastered reissues on 180g Vinyl! The 11th studio album by Kiss, released in 1983, features a rare image of the group sans makeup. The title track, "Lick It Up", has become a staple of the band's live performances. Lick It Up is the first album officially featuring the new lead guitarist Vinnie Vincent. Due to the fact that he refused to sign a contract and he continually would extend his guitar solos, (sometimes breaking out into a solo on stage without the prior knowledge of the other band members), Vincent was released from the group following a show in Quebec, Canada in March 1984. 489/500! KISS celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the release of their
1974 albums, KISS (debut album) & Hotter Than Hell, with re-mastered
reissues on 180g Vinyl! Destroyer, released in 1976, is one of Kiss' most
experimental studio albums, but also one of their strongest and most
interesting. The album was certified gold by the RIAA on April 22, 1976. The
album features "Detroit Rock City" and the ever popular rock ballad
"Beth". The cover art for Destroyer was painted by fantasy artist
Ken Kelly. His original version of the album cover was rejected by the record
company due to the fact that they felt the scene was too violent looking with
the rubble and flames. The original version also showed the members wearing the
Alive! costumes. Kerrang! magazine, in 1989, listed the album at #36 among
the 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Album of All Time. In 2003, it was ranked #489 on
Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. was billed as the "Return of Kiss" since they had not released a
studio album since 1977's "Love Gun". Due to an unfortunate car accident in 1978, Peter Criss'
drumming became hindered leading to the hiring of Anton Fig to perform drums on
all tracks except "Dirty Livin'". Dynasty is the first album that the original four members
did not all appear together for the entire album. Features: Heavyweight 180 Gram
