THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL 1919 ABSOLUTELY STUNNING SOLID 9 CARAT GOLD GENUINE VERTEX MANS WATCH IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. 

FRESH FROM AN ESTATE SALE AND NEVER OFFERED ON EBAY BEFORE! 

CASE:

This is a stunning, and beautiful solid 9 carat GOLD two piece double hinged snap back and bezel watch case. The inside rear of the case is hall marked for solid 9 carat gold, and has the assay mark for LONDON, ENGLAND dating the watch to 1919. The inside of the case is FULLY signed by VERTEX and has the case sponsors initials of GS. (George Stockwell).The case is in ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT condition for its 100+ years of age showing no major wear apart from a few light marks on the case back and nicks on the bezel. There are NO dings anywhere to the case that I can see to the eye. (see pics). It has NO personalisations. The case is shining with a beautiful golden luster after a gentle polish. The case measures 3.3cms (33mm) In diameter, excluding the crown and its extended lugs. The watch has had its lugs resized a long time ago to accept an 18mm band which is more in keeping for a mans watch. This is a stunning and beautiful QUALITY solid gold genuine VERTEX watch case. 

DIAL:

This is an absolutely lovely white unsigned dial. It shows one light hairline at 1 o’clock but the rest of the dial is in excellent condition. It has black Arabic numerals which are in excellent condition with a black outer seconds track.The original hands are blued steel and are in excellent condition, as is the rare matching blued steel centre second hand which is unusual and has an ‘arrow point’ tip. This is a really fantastic dial in excellent original condition. The plexi crystal shows some slight wear but is in excellent condition. 

MOVEMENT:

This is a beautiful, fantastic and near mint absolutely genuine VERTEX SIGNED HI GRADE jewelled manual wind movement with centre secs. The movement is signed on the barrel, showing its true VERTEX roots. This early centre seconds movement is very rare as it is fitted with a Swan neck micrometric regulator. I have never seen a Vertex watch with this addition in all my years of collecting. The watch winds smoothly and crown sets as it should. It is in full working condition and has a lovely quiet operation. The watch is has been timed and oiled and is keeping good time to within approximately +/- 15 secs per day as tested over a 24 hour period. The golden crown looks original to the watch and is unsigned. It is in good condition showing slight normal wear. 

BAND:

I have had this gorgeous watch fitted with a brand new high quality stitched 18mm black leather band. Please note that this watch has had wire larger lugs fitted as it would have originally taken a 12mm band. You can just see the remnants of the old lugs on the case top and bottom. The band has never been worn, and is in perfect condition. This watch and band measure 9 inches in total length. It compliments this beautiful solid gold VERTEX watch absolutely superbly!
