This lovely vintage hat is a fuzzy wool fabric which was made in Western Germany. Inside the crown is marked "Empress."
The hat has a high crown and a brim that turns up around the sides and back. It is magenta in color with a wide magenta faille ribbon around the crown and with rolled ribbon ornament on one side.
Inner circumference measures 21 inches. Height of crown is 4 1/2 inches and the brim measures 3 inches wide. A grosgrain ribbon surrounds the inner opening with a label on the outside and a union label underneath.
The label inside reads, "Martin's, Brooklyn, Babylon, Garden City, Huntington." Condition is VERY GOOD.

***Hang your garment outside in a dry shaded location for a few days
***Place your garment in a paper bag with newspaper for several days. The newspaper will absorb unpleasant odors. Change the newspaper frequently.
***Take your garment to a reputable dry cleaners. Dry cleaning should remove any smells if you request your item be deodorized.
I try my best to offer clean and odor free items but I DO NOT have them dry cleaned in order to offer them to you at a lower price.
