End grain - tree slices - elements
Here It is an end grain tree disc element for countless uses. Thin round ones are used for this product approx. 5mm tree slices cut from a wooden trunk and slowly and gently dried. However, this almost always results in natural cracking of the pane. These round tree slices, also called crosscut, are then carefully applied by hand to a carrier material, glued, cut into rectangular shapes and then sanded and roughly brushed, 4mm is the thickness of the finished slices. Brushing gives the surface a special feel and a certain 3-D effect, which makes the wood look very natural and real! Since real wood tree slices always work a bit and can easily deform if they are applied on one side an oak panel on both sides of the CDF panel glued on. This is a common process to counteract larger deformations.
In this version the oak slice has been replaced with a hard compacted black one 12mm CDF plate glued on to create a beautiful contrast to the cracking of the oak wood. CDF is compressed approximately twice as hard as a normal MDF board and is therefore slightly heavier. The The wooden surface of these wooden panels is untreated and, depending on your taste, can easily be oiled, waxed, painted or even stained in color. In the transition in the cracks, the adhesive may come out/be visible in the corners/edges/joints due to the pressing. Color differences in the elements are possible because it is a natural product. In order to make these wooden elements even more high-quality, the Back of all edges with a slanted chamfer (see photos!) Mistake. This looks even better than pure rectangular wooden panels, as the black panel is hardly visible as a carrier material (e.g. if it is just lying down or hanging on the wall). All of these complex processes make these wood materials a very special wood product for many different uses. Each piece and each slice is unique and therefore a unique product made from real wood. The back may occasionally have a small missing piece on one edge. The photos are just examples of what you can receive. For the photos, 9 finished elements 43x43cm were placed next to each other.
NOTE: the photo with the 9 elements next to each other consists of 9 individual elements, each measuring 43x43cm!
