Here on offer is a great vintage King Edward VIII coronation mug 1937 by Bovey Pottery, Devon.

This wonderful mug was to celebrate the coronation of King Edward VIII in 1937. The cup features a beautiful portrait of King Edward surmounted by the imperial state crown and surrounded by the symbols of state and royalty. The back of the cup carries the royal cypher. There is some elegant moulded detail with gilt accents.

The mug has a manufacturing fault by the cypher and crazing. The maker mark reads:

MADE IN ENGLAND

BY

BOVEY POTTERY

DEVON

The cup is offered in good antique condition, it measures about 7.2cm by 9.4cm at the widest point.

This would make a great addition for a collector.

Please see my pictures for the details of the condition which complement this description.
