We are pleased to offer a handsome English silverplated flatware from Bravington's a well known jeweler and retailer in London and various other cities in England.  The style of the set is Art Deco with simple designs on the silverplated place pieces and French (faux) Ivory handles on the knives and carving set.

The box is oak and has a beautiful patina.  It sits on 4 bun feet and has terrific detail inside and out and is lined with tobacco brown velvet.  The only flaw is that it is missing a piece on one of the clasps.

This set appears to be all original and quite possibly never used.  None of the pieces show anything other than storage scratches.  The knives have stainless steel blades, each bearing the Bravington logo and the handles are French Ivory - a blend of celluoid and camphor made to mimic ivory.  It was used from the late 1800s until the mid 1950s.  The place pieces have a plain handle or a tipped design and all pieces are signed with the maker's name.

Included are 42 pieces:

  • 6 luncheon knives
  • 6 dinner knives
  • 6 dinner forks
  • 6 luncheon forks
  • 6 dessert or oval soup spoons
  • 6 coffee or teaspoons
  • 4 table serving spoons
  • 2 piece roast carving set fruit
  • Knife sharpener
