REALLY UNIQUE FIND. A CIVIL WAR LETTER HAND WRITTEN AND SIGNED BY THEODORE ?HATTERS?, AND DATED JULY 5th 1862.

NICE LETTER. SPEAKS OF "SHOT HIM RIGHT IN THE HEAD AND KILT HIM DEAD"!!
GREAT COLLECTABLE! AT ONE POINT HE TALKS ABOUT THE WAR BEING OVER SOON AND WE CAN GO HOME! IMAGINE! THIS WAS 3 YEARS FROM THE END OF THE WAR!!

AUTHENTIC CIVIL WAR LETTER FROM THE PERIOD! WE TRIED TO DECIPHER IT, SO HERE IS THE BEST WE COULD DO! 
 
"July 5 1862 Dear Sister,got the stamps and was glad to get them so i can rite to you. we hide(?) nite times down here
we hade(?) a initmach(?) match at a target 
fore a silver cup and i think that our company wonit. then we hade a greasey poal to clime. fore ____ Shiloh.(?)
and we had a pig shave and greased it and let it gon and the one cachit by the tail could have it. and it was fun to see them run after it, and we had much as we could drink. And we had lemon age and much Beer(?) that we could drink. And we had nice times hear. We had a man shot a weak a gou. he and another man were playing with their guns and shot him rite in the head and kilt him dead. he was in company d. they stayed up near me. Do nou I Will tel  you a bout the wore. how it is getting along. Mellon (McClellan) is fighen his way there fast. Wen he gets in Richman he Will sure be in thire be fore long i think that he is in thire buy this time. Wen he gets Richman then the wore Will soon be over. then us Will soon Be home i think. tell banster and ... they must Rite . tell pa i am well and fat as ever. i think ifhe Was Down hear that he could get a nice farm down hear. i cante rite a very long letter this time fore i have to gon gard. and the note will you(?) We will get paid off in a week or to so good morning Theodore Hatters(?)"
