Description

Kolossus Kandy GREEN 0 Gauge Power Wire

Kolossus Kandy Neon Power / Ground Battery Cable consists of oversized, fine stranded, tinned Oxygen Free Copper (99.99%).  Applications include automotive, marine, mobile audio, and solar. By design, we increased the surface area of our cables to allow for higher current loads.

With over 5000 strands, No other car audio manufacture even comes close to matching our size. This is truly the best wire available, it is so large its actually 2/0!!!. Better and BIGGER than Stinger, which only has 4214 Strands. Why pay extra for a name and get 20% less copper?

The Flex Kable features an ultra flex matte PVC jacket that makes it bend to any radius and stable in temperatures from -40C to 105C. Kandy colors available include Blue, Green, & Purple - This listing is ONLY for GREEN!

Price is per foot, cut to the total length ordered.

Plain and Simple Specifications

All KnuKonceptz Cable Products clearly state these specifications

  • Wire type - CCA or OFC
  • These materials are commonly used, but not commonly stated when shopping online. Know what you are purchasing. Both metals are capable of performing up to their rated loads.
  • American Wire Gauge
  • Wire gauge is crucial to powering your system correctly. Undersized cable will create unsafe conditions and may shorten your amplifier's life.
  • Max Load (amps)
  • Wire's ampacity changes with gauge and materials. KnuKonceptz does not rate cable based on watts. Amplifier manufactures do not always truthfully state the output of their product, check your on board fuses!

True American Wire Gauge (AWG) Products

  • Using American Wire Gauge standards, the gauge of stranded wire is determined by the total area of the conductor.
  • To calculate this you would take the area of each strand and add it together. This area, in square mm, then determines gauge.
  • Diameter is not as critical with stranded wire, this is due to the tiny air gaps between each strand. Diameter may fluctuate with strand size and how tightly wound the rope of the cable is.
  • The smaller the number, the larger the wire, until you reach zero or aught (0). From zero, you then have double aught (00 or 2/0), three aught (000 or 3/0) ...
  • Based on AWG, the true gauge of this cable is 1/0

Tinned Copper - What the Pros Recommend

  • When bare copper is exposed to oxygen, it oxidizes over time (turns brown/green).
  • These contaminants are damaging to the cable's ability to conduct electricity.
  • Tin provides a protective barrier from oxygen to the bare copper underneath.
  • By adding a thin layer of tin to each strand, the cable is no longer able to oxidize.
  • Tin does not react with oxygen and therefore the cable will never change color or have any change in its ability to conduct electricity

Product FAQ

Q: Can this power wire be used as ground wire too?
A: Yes, there is no physical difference between power or ground cable. We do recommend using two different color wires to differentiate between positive and negative connections though.

Q: Why is this copper wire silver in color?
A: Our Kolossus Kable is tin coated Oxygen Free Copper. Tin provides a protective barrier from oxygen to the bare copper underneath. By coating the copper strands in tin, your cable will never oxidize or tarnish. Meaning your cable will last longer than your vehicle.

Q: Is this 0 Gauge or 1/0 Gauge Wire?
A: On the American Wire Gauge scale, 0 and 1/0 are equal. A 1/0 (one aught) cable literally means "one zero" or "0". The next larger size cable is 2/0 (two aught) "00" which is also called double aught. This continues to 3/0, 4/0 and so on. Going smaller in size from 0 you would then have 1, 2, 4 gauge etc...
