Here's a seldom seen  example of a vintage ENGLISH WATERMAN pen in 9ct solid gold and estimated to be from the mid- thirties.  It is 5-1/4" long  and with a gold BARLEY pattern, some heavy posting dents and a two letter monogram in a monogram box on the barrel. There is also what looks like some light tool marks on the barrel tassie and dent on the tassie at the top of the cap.  The are 375 marks on the lever, clip, lower cap ring, and upper barrel ring. The cap ring also is marked WATERMAN while the barrel ring has a series of hallmarks, including the goldsmiths mark, SJR, The pen is a lever filler and will need a new sac as none is currently installed. J-bar seems to operate. Under the cap, the plastic is all excellent and the pen is equipped with a WATERMAN'S, 14CT, ENGLAND, 2A nib, so marked. It looks like a fine tip in excellent condition, and with modest flex.
