Chaim Herzog was born in Belfast, Ireland; immigrated to Mandatory Palestine
in 1935. He was a politician, general, lawyer and author. Between 1975 and 1978
  Herzog served as Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations; then
 served as the sixth President of Israel between 1983 and 1993.
