Thick wood brightly colored. These are not too complicated for toddlers, I am thinking these are best for the 2 to 3 year old or you can mix all the pieces up and let them work from all for boards to make it a little more difficult.

Easy for the little hands to handle, much better than probably the larger puzzles would have been. The colors are all bright and vibrant it came in a four pack and the animal theme is just perfect. And they’re really good for developing hand eye coordination as well as color and shape recognition.
