A gorgeous & rare large French Moustiers barbers bowl.

Decorated in a chinoiserie pattern, man with musical instrument serenading a woman, also a bird and fox.

The bowl is hand painted on a molded tin glazed earthenware body with a scalloped rim.

It is an 18th century piece  showing all the characteristics that come with a piece of tin glaze that age (dating around 1750).

The predominant color is green with cream, peach and burnt orange.

The bowl is made for hanging as it has the original 18th century metal hanging strap on the backside.

The piece is marked by maker/artist  under strap only partially showing.

Amazingly there are no chips or repairs the piece is very stable.

There is a sporadic crackleure veining in the glaze as expected.

Please pay close attention to the photos.

Also available is a matching  pair of 10" round plates with the same mounted straps.

I will list if requested.

The large bowl measures 14.5" across, 10.75" deep and app. 3" high.
