Carnivale (HBO TV Series) Original prop newspaper with photos of a psychiatrist who killed his family and himself below the fold on the first page and a headline showing that KIng George V weds princess, about 15 by 24 inches, folded in half so it could be sold in a newspaper rack, in excellent condition (the technicians who printed the paper added ink in the margins to make the paper look tanned). A copy of this newspaper was used in the beginning of Episode 13 (or Episode 1 of Season 2) when it was being read by Brother Justin as he looked at the exposed legs of his sleeping sister. Although he did not refer to the article, the psychiatrist who killed himself may have been the psychiatrist at Sherwood State Hospital who treated him after he attempted to jump off the bridge and was committed to the institution. An added benefit is that there are four total pages with the last three being filled with lots of interesting articles that have nothing to do with the series. The article headlines and bodies do not necessarily match. I do not know if this copy was used on screen because, as was typical, multiples were made for reshoots in case those in use were soiled, creased, or destroyed. I
acquired it from the sale of Carnivale props after the series was
cancelled.
