The following points indicate this as being a relatively early printing of The Philosopher's Stone:

- Copyright  credited to Joanne Rowling and not J. K. Rowling as on later editions.

- Young wizard to rear cover.

- Smarties Gold Award Winner label to the front cover. 

These text errors indicate that this is a relatively early printing of The Philosopher's Stone:

Page 15, line 3 - “he tried to kill the Potter’s son” changed to “he tried to kill the Potters’ son”

Page 17, lines 31-32 - “I’ll be takin’ Sirius his bike back” changed to “I’d best get this bike away”

Page 31, line 34 - deletion of an unnecessary single comma at the beginning of the sentence 

Page 52, line 35 - “A Beginners’ Guide” changed to “A Beginner’s Guide”

Page 56, lines 17-18 - “seventeen sickles an ounce” changed to “sixteen sickles an ounce”

Page 72, line 25 - “a shiny silver badge” changed to “a shiny red and gold badge”

Page 87, line 31 - “Hogwarts, a History” changed to “Hogwarts: A History”

Page 92, line 22 - “four hundred years” changed to “five hundred years”

Page 101, line 4 - “head of Gryffindor house” changed to “Head of Gryffindor House”

Page 147, lines 7-8 - “looking forward to next day” changed to “looking forward to the next day”

Page 168, lines 9-10 - “One Hundred Magical Herbs” changed to “One Thousand Magical Herbs”

Page 193, line 27 - “that’s the pub” changed to “that’s one of the pubs”

Page 205, line 3 - “you go next to him” changed to “you go there”

Page 205, line 32 - “I take one step forward and she’ll take me” changed to “I’ll make my move and she’ll take me”

The book is in very good solid condition with only light edge and surface wear to the covers.

The spine remains solid.  

Typical light tanning to the edge of the text block.

No internal tears, creasing or inscription.
