This listing is for a circa a 1949 WHITE DOT SHEAFFER SENTINEL DELUXE TUCKAWAY pen/pencil set in burnt umber. The pieces have stainless steel gold banded caps with the wavy lines decoration on the steel. This set approaches the end of the post war period where the white dot was positioned in the most convenient spots.. on this pen, at the base of the blind cap. About this period Sheaffer commenced placing the White dot on the metal cap above the clip. The pen is 4-1/2" while the pencil is 4."  Both have pricing marks, 1000 and 500 respectively and prominent barrel imprints. The are no observed flaws to plastic or metal cap and either item. Gold filled trim is perfect. The only noted item is the requirement for a new seal for the plunger filler. The pencil uses .036" lead and operates perfectly. I've contrived an eraser to fit the hole and added significant additional lead.  The pen's Triumph nib is a 14K medium and rigid point. It is also serialized.  I don't know if the box is original, but it certainly could be..  a nice blue oval Tuckaway box in excellent condition.
