STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN & DOUBLE TROUBLE 180 GRAM MUSIC ON VINYL DOUBLE LP SET - Limited double 180 gram audiophile vinyl LP pressing includes insert. Live At Carnegie Hall is a live Texas blues album by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, released in 1997.
The concert was recorded at New York City's Carnegie Hall on October 4,
1984, a day after Vaughan's thirtieth birthday (leading to Vaughan's
description of the show as 'My best birthday ever.. forever'). Special guests
included drummer George Rains, Dr.John on keyboards, the Roomful of Blues horn
section, brother Jimmie Vaughan on guitar, and vocalist Angela Strehli. This
was the first and only time in the band's history that the trio was expanded.
The set list was in large part Vaughan's personal, private, tribute to his role
models; he played tunes by Guitar Slim, Albert Collins, and Albert King, all
musicians who never got to perform in the legendary concert hall. The album
charted on the Billboard 200, and was the #1 Blues album for eight weeks.

With his astonishingly accomplished guitar playing, Stevie Ray Vaughan ignited the blues revival of the '80s. Vaughan drew equally from bluesmen like Albert King, Otis Rush and Hubert Sumlin and rock 'n' roll players like Jimi Hendrix and Lonnie Mack, as well as the stray jazz guitarist like Kenny Burrell, developing a uniquely eclectic and fiery style that sounded like no other guitarist, regardless of genre.
Before the Montreux Jazz Festival, before Bowie's Let's Dance album, before Texas Flood, before the Grammys, before the cocaine and alcohol abuse, before the redemption of sobriety, before the joyful In Step and Family Style ... before August 27, 1990... before the all-star tributes, before "The Legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan"... There was an unknown, hardworking 24-year-old gunslinger named Little Stevie Vaughan, learning his craft the hard way in the trenches of the Austin Texas clubs, trying his darndest to get out of the shadow of his famous older brother Jimmie. It wouldn't be long.
Anyone lucky enough to have been in the audience at this early live show, on April Fools Day in 1980, could have told you that. Young Stevie Vaughan (he had yet to become Stevie Ray) blasted the hometown crowd with a style that was already very well-formed. With Chris Layton on drums and bassist Jackie Newhouse (Tommy Shannon would join up a year later), his basic sound was already in place, albeit still in need of some polishing.
Taken from the surviving two-track master, Vaughan's guitar is raw and in your face every note of the way. His takes on Freddie King's "In the Open" and the lengthy "Tin Pan Alley" are the real highlights here

PLUS THE RARE Live At McNichols Arena LIMITED TO 500 PIECES ON YELLOW COLORED VINYL
Stevie Ray Vaughan Live At McNichols Arena In Denver, Colorado, November 29, 1989 on limited edition import yellow LP
Recorded live on November 29, 1989, in Denver while Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble were on tour for their new album, In Step. However, that night Stevie Ray, along with guest guitarist Jeff Beck, did not focus strictly on playing songs from the album, but instead had fun rocking out on versions of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" and Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child," both of which are included famously here.
During their performance of "Life Without You," one of Vaughan's earlier songs, the newly reformed guitar hero even took the time to speak out on substance abuse and plead with his audience not to go down the same road he had. Unfortunately, less than a year later one of the greatest guitar players the world has ever known was dead at age 35 from a helicopter crash. Yellow vinyl with blue label in PVC sleeve featuring blue lettering. From B13 Records. Limited edition of 500 copies!

With his astonishingly accomplished guitar playing, Stevie
Ray Vaughan ignited the blues revival of the '80s. Vaughan drew equally from
bluesmen like Albert King, Otis Rush and Hubert Sumlin and rock 'n' roll players
like Jimi Hendrix and Lonnie Mack, as well as the stray jazz guitarist like
Kenny Burrell, developing a uniquely eclectic and fiery style that sounded like
no other guitarist, regardless of genre.
Stevie Ray had made music beyond the powers of most
musicians but for this 1990 studio collaboration he returned to the things he
loved: upbeat music and working with the brother he idolized his whole life. In
his early years, Stevie Ray Vaughan often remarked that he would like to do an
album with his brother. He fulfilled that wish in his very last studio
performance, which was released nearly a month after his death. The liner notes
end with "Thanks Mama V. for letting us play." With slick production
from Nile Rodgers and employing neither guitarist's band (Double Trouble nor
the Fabulous Thunderbirds), this is bluesy, but far from purist. Jimmie makes
his vocal debut on "White Boots" and "Good Texan" and the
brothers blur the lines between their expected guitar styles — Stevie sometimes
going for a less sustained twang, Jimmie moving into Albert King territory.
As we did with our vaunted box set reissues, Texas
Hurricane, again Analogue Productions is bringing you the finest-sounding
Stevie Ray Vaughan collections ever preserved on 200-gram vinyl. Ryan Smith at
Sterling Sound cut the lacquers for the LPs using the ultimate VMS 80 cutting
lathe. Gary Salstrom handled the plating and the vinyl was pressed of course at
Quality Record Pressings.
There's not a link in this chain that wasn't absolute
