Sparta NC's Del Reeves enjoyed a run of success on the country music charts in the 1960s, both as a songwriter and a performer. On this album, Reeves sings six up-tempo tunes and six ballads. In addition to one original written by Reeves and his wife, he covers tunes written by notables like Dallas Frazier, Sonny Curtis, Merle Haggard, Curley Putman, Harlan Howard, and Hank Cochran. Produced by Bob Montgomery, this album is an entertaining mix of first-rate songs and, as the liner notes state, is "the next best thing to seeing him in person."
