Unusual Georgian Elbow Double Hinged Locking Security Latch Gate Hinge Hook.

It is really old so probably Georgian.

This is not a cabin hook.

The mechanism is very neat and ingenious. This is for the inside only if a gate or door. You can only open from the inside by gently releasing the tension at the joint towards you and then it swings open. Push it away from you and it ‘locks’ into full extension position. You cannot push from the outside of the gate or door to open nor can it be seen.
