Ken-A-Vision TU-19241C Comparison Scope 2 Microscope.

Designed as a classroom instrument for teaching forensics and comparative sciences, Ken-a-Vision's 110 VAC US version of the TU-19241C Comparison Scope 2 Microscope features two identical microscope bodies connected by a bridge with a single binocular head for making detailed side-by-side comparative observations. It is powered by a 110 VAC US outlet or the permanently-installed rechargeable battery for use in the field. The battery will run for up to 40 hours on a single eight hour charge.

The binocular head has two 10x eyepieces - one with an integrated pointer - set at in a 30° angle for comfortable both-eyes-open observations that preserves stereoscopic vision with a depth of field that monocular heads are unable to provide. This 3-D vision is especially important when viewing objects like coins, fabrics, stones, and just about anything beyond slides.

Two identical bodies, connected by a bridge, each feature a four-objective 360° rotating turret with click-stop positions at each lens. The four objectives from 4x to 100x produce a broad magnification range of 40x to 1000x making this microscope a versatile observation and educational tool. Achromatic glass objectives are designed to correct for chromatic and spherical aberrations in the center 60% of the field of view, so images have a true color representation with virtually no distortion in the center of the viewing area.

If users need to change or replace eyepieces and objectives, Ken-a-Vision designed them to DIN standards to enable parts from many manufacturers to be installed without making modifications. For additional versatility, the TU-19241C features upper and lower LED illumination that allows transparent specimens like prepared slides to be lit from below, and opaque subjects to be let from above. A rheostat for the LEDs provide variable output for precision illumination.
